Facing west across a lagoon, Kwara Camp enjoys spectacular sunsets. The diversity of Kwara ranges from permanent Delta water with lagoons, channels, islands, open grasslands and Mopane woodlands.
Kwara Camp is located in the remote northern part of the Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. It is a remote wilderness area in excess of 1700 square kilometers bordering the Moremi Reserve. Kwara is an abbreviated form of a Tswana expression meaning “where the pelicans feed”. Deep pools, seasonally fed by subterranean springs, dry up more slowly than their more shallow counterparts but when they do, the concentration of fish causes a pelican feeding frenzy.
