Welcome to Vic Falls

The ‘Adventure Capital of Africa’

Livingstone in the south of Zambia, home to the mighty Victoria Falls is also known as the ‘Adventure Capital’ of Africa. Victoria falls is Zambia’s most famous and popular destination. When you are stood in front of the ‘Thundering’ waters getting soaked by the spray, its obvious to see why. The shear enormity and power of the mighty “Mosi-o-Tunya” ( Smoke that thunders ) have made it one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world.

As a tourist destination, the Livingstone area is very well developed. There are Luxury five star hotels by the falls and set on the banks of the Zambezi luxury River Lodges, camp sites. The town of Livingstone is steeped in History with a very worthwhile Museum to visit.

Adventure Activities

Victoria Falls is rapidly becoming one of the Adventure Capitals of the world in a spectacular natural setting.

For over 20 years now it has been recognised for having the worlds greatest and hardest commercial White water rafting experience as well as the worlds highest fixed Bungee Jump from the Victoria falls bridge 111m down into the Batoka Gorge.

1. White Water Rafting

Considered one of the best stretches of commercially run river in the world, Batoka Gorge provides one of the most intense sensory thrills imaginable. Its twenty three white water rapids and striking scenery deep within the sheer black cliffs afford the adrenaline junkie a wild roller coaster ride along a route carved over millennia by the Great Zambezi.

2. Abseiling

The latest adventure activity to come to Livingstone is Abseiling, and the sheer gorges around Victoria Falls are ideal for the adventurer or try high wire. A cable is spanned across the gorge 135m long and 75m above the ground. A full body harness is attached securely from your back to the cable and you take a running dive off the edge of the cliff.

Also Helicopter rides and Micro-light flights over the falls and through the Batoka Gorge provide awesome views and thrills – the Victoria Falls – truly one of the greatest ‘Wonders of the World’.

3. Helicopter and Micro light flights

Also Helicopter rides and Micro-light flights over the falls and through the Batoka Gorge provide awesome views and thrills – the Victoria Falls – truly one of the greatest ‘Wonders of the World’.

4. Horse Back & Elephant Back Safaris

Also on offer for those who like a more tranquil adventure are Equestrian & Elephant Back Safaris along the Zambezi River, near Victoria Falls. Ride into Teak Forests and wilderness areas, crossing old rivers and getting really close to the wildlife is one of the better ways to enjoy the awesome beauty of this area. Ride amongst the elephants and herds of antelope, as the early pioneers saw Africa!

5. Visiting Mosi-oa-Tunya NP

The small park offers a good introduction to Zambia’s wildlife. You might see elephants, buffalo, giraffes and plains zebras. Reintroduced white rhinos are reproducing successfully. Common antelope species include impalabushbuckpuku and common waterbuck. There are no large predators.

The park is situated along the bank of the upper Zambezi – one of Africa’s most impressive rivers – and it incorporates the world-famous Victoria Falls. The drive along the river offers stunning views of this mighty waterway, especially in the early morning, when a thick carpet of mist hangs above the water. When leaving the waterfront, riverine forest gives way to mopane woodland and open grassland.
