Lusaka National Park

Lusaka National Park is located to the south-east of the city of Lusaka in Zambia. It is Zambia’s newest national park, established in 2011 and officially opened in 2015. It is also Zambia’s smallest national park at 6,715 hectares. The park was established over an area that was previously forest reserve and is entirely fenced.

In 2022, GRI opened a unique and immersive Wildlife Discovery Centre in Lusaka National Parkit is the new home of Elephant Nursery, Fully accessible to all, the Wildlife Discovery Centre will welcome an estimated 40,000 local and international visitors each year to immerse themselves in interactive displays and exhibits that will highlight conservation issues and the efforts to resolve them. Through the centre, we aim to make a significant long-term contribution to the protection of wildlife and wild spaces by showcasing Zambia’s natural wealth, increasing environmental awareness and inspiring greater conservation stewardship.

We offer a morning activity in the National Park be immersed in Zambi’s habitat and observe orphaned elephants in their boma at feeding time.
